“honest” Finds Blue Capricorn and LOREN KOLE in the Space Between Love and Letting Go

“honest” is the third track from Blue Capricorn’s forthcoming second EP, when you come back, transcend me, which is scheduled for release on October 15. Following his 2023 EP ¡AYÚDAME!, the project continues his interest in ambient soundscapes, electronic production and emotionally direct songwriting.

The collaboration with LOREN KOLE is central to that atmosphere. Their shared vocal and instrumental contributions give the track a conversational quality, while the production leaves enough space for its emotional details to register. There is a clear emphasis on texture, but the arrangement remains accessible rather than becoming overwhelmed by its experimental elements.

Synths, delicate piano and keys, atmospheric guitar and understated percussion create a spacious backdrop that gives the song a cinematic quality. Rather than building towards an overtly dramatic climax, “honest” maintains a measured pace, reflecting the uncertainty at the heart of its subject matter. The result is a track that feels suspended between intimacy and distance.

Blue Capricorn and LOREN KOLE’s “honest” is a restrained, atmospheric exploration of what remains when a relationship can no longer be sustained. Blending Latin indie-pop with art pop and experimental textures, the track places vulnerability at the centre of its songwriting while allowing its production to carry much of the emotional weight.

“honest” also benefits from its refusal to present heartbreak as a neatly resolved experience. Its focus is instead on vulnerability, attachment and the difficult process of accepting that love has failed. That perspective gives the song a reflective quality without relying heavily on sentimentality.

As a collaboration, “honest” offers a thoughtful meeting point between Blue Capricorn’s experimental approach and LOREN KOLE’s cinematic indie-pop sensibility.
