Cincinnati’s own Yung Mosh are back with “Facetime” – a vicious, cathartic anthem about reclaiming your power, cutting ties with abusers, and serving your enemies a long-overdue dose of vindication. Blending heavy riffs, crushing trap beats, hip-hop swagger, and massive singalong rock choruses, the track is a perfect example of the band’s “kitchen sink” approach to music: fun, catchy, and unapologetically intense.
“‘Facetime’ is about being done with someone’s abuse and taking your power back,” says vocalist Wesley Merritt (aka Yung Mosh). “It’s a power fantasy where we get to introduce our enemies to some good old-fashioned vindication.”
Born from the ashes of their previous incarnation The World I Knew, Yung Mosh was the brainchild of Merritt himself; a name chosen to instantly communicate their identity and energy. Since forming five years ago, the band has been fusing the chaos of trap, the aggression of metal, and the accessibility of rock into something wholly unique.
From the jump, Yung Mosh has been all about high-energy performances, unpredictable genre-blending, and a refusal to take themselves too seriously. They’re here to make you move, mosh, and maybe throw a drink in the air.
