Jozem shares glimpse into his past with ‘Youth’

Toronto based, (via Kenya & Rwanda)  artist Jozem returns with haunting new single and video ‘Youth’.

Beginning with a field recording taken from Jozems primary school in Nairobi, this is soon joined by soft beats, light harmonics and a rich, atmospheric vocal brought to life by a visual of incredulous beauty.

Delving into the meaning behind ‘Youth’, Jozem describes, “I have felt like an outsider my entire life, whether it was because of my introversion, being a refugee/foreign, at times because of my blackness or my queerness or any combination thereof. Along the way, I’ve met kindred spirits that live unapologetically, showing you that it is ok to be who you are without compromise and to be proud of the things that make you different.”

Preparing to reveal his upcoming, debut album it came to me in dream our eyes are firmly fixed on this captivating artist and cannot wait to revel in more of his artistry.
