Tobias Sarra Releases His Debut Album, A Beige Kind of Grey

Gifting us with ten long tracks, Tobias Sarra releases his debut album, A Beige Kind Of Grey.

Including from the heart improvisation and combining the beauty of low-fi production and higher quality recordings, this set of work is simply put – raw, and inspiring. The lengthy record provides us with so much story to unpick and interpret; the standout themes being depression, devotion, obsession, and redemption.

The opening number, Morning, is an ethereal, but unsettling start, as we hear wind-like sounds and crackles embedded in the production. In fact, interesting tones bubble away throughout the entirety of the record, some providing more comfort than others. Whilst in some respects you can experience, sort of, sensory overload when listening to these tracks, it is no doubt all so refreshing. Squelching Butterfly Plums just manages to itch a part of your brain you did not know you could reach whilst Scaling The Factory Garden is a magical composition and fit to be a score in a contemporary dance.

Drawing, overall, on folk to traditional world to hip-hop and avant-pop sounds, A Beige Kind Of Day is truly an adventurous but beautiful album from interdisciplinary performer, Tobias Sarra.

Out from the 3rd of December, you can now stream Tobias Sarra’s debut album on all relevant streaming platforms.
