PREMIERE: Frozen Lakes – Love Theme For An Apocalypse

Frozen Lakes is back with a brand new single! This time, Lance Waste takes on the current state of the world with his appropriately themed “Love Theme For An Apocalypse”.

“It feels a bit like 28 Days Later to me, honestly.” Waste explains. “I was sick and bedridden from basically last August until this February. Then as soon as I started getting my strength back and getting back into a “normal life”, the virus hits and everything shuts down again!”

The song explores love and romance as society crumbles. “I’m a big fan of The Walking Dead, Mad Max, Resident Evil movies, and games like the Fallout Series and The Last Of Us. So I’ve thought a lot about living in the Apocalypse. So when everything started shutting down, and people started wearing masks. I thought about how quarantine was actually bringing my family closer together. We started doing family dinners again and talked about gardening in case things got bad and we needed to grow our own food. A lot of artists put out their quarantine songs. And this is mine.”

After 15 years of diy touring with his band, Darling Waste. Cleveland, Ohio native Lance Waste was ready for a change of pace. He packed up his family and headed south to the sunshine and sandy beaches of Myrtle Beach, SC. After taking a year off from performing and writing music, Waste began working on new music, focusing on genres, styles of music and lyrical themes he wasn’t able to explore with his previous band. The result is Frozen Lakes.

Frozen Lakes explores themes of death, loss and our place in the universe wrapped in neatly crafted, often sorrowful, pop music. Waste weaves unique sonic tapestries by blending the traditional singer songwriter instruments like piano and acoustic guitar, with modern production, layering drum and vocal loops into the mix.
